Location: On Campus at Niagara College

Term: This is a volunteer part-time position during the academic year, 2-3 hours/week

About Us:

Friendlier is a trusted reuse partner for campuses, foodservice operators, and institutions across North America, delivering turnkey reusable packaging systems that simplify the shift away from single-use packaging. Our model combines durable packaging, digital tools that support engagement and environmental impact tracking, and reliable collection and sanitization services to keep containers in active circulation while reducing operational burden. Founded in Canada, Friendlier has grown from a local solution to a national presence across the country and recently into the United States, continuing to support organizations seeking practical, scalable ways to reduce single-use waste through systems that integrate seamlessly into everyday operations.

We are searching for Campus Leaders for the 2026/2027 school year.

About the Role:

As a Friendlier Campus Leader, you will act as a student ambassador and community builder for the Friendlier reusable packaging program at your school. You will help educate students, raise awareness, and drive participation in the program through creative engagement initiatives, social content, events, and on-campus outreach.

This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in sustainability, marketing, sales, communications, community engagement, or leadership development.

  • Support increased adoption and return rates of reusable containers

  • Help create a positive and visible sustainability culture within the student community

  • Gather insights and experiment with ways to improve program participation

What You’ll Do

Campus Leaders contribute through a flexible 2–3 hour weekly commitment, including:

  • Conduct on-campus booth activations approximately once per month

  • Educate students about the Friendlier reusable packaging program and how it works

  • Promote the environmental impact of reducing single-use waste

Program Optimization

  • Test and suggest ideas to improve program engagement and return rates

  • Support experiments related to signage, return bin placement, awareness tactics, and other engagement strategies

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Create regular social media content featuring Friendlier products and reuse habits in daily campus life

  • Help amplify sustainability messaging through student-focused channels

Events & Community Building

  • Host or support one campus event per semester related to sustainability, reuse, or student engagement

  • Collaborate with student groups and campus organizations where applicable

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in regular check-in calls with the Friendlier team and other campus leaders

  • Share feedback, student insights, and campus trends

What Success Looks Like

  • Increased student awareness and participation in the Friendlier program

  • Improvement in number of returned Friendlier products by 5-10% year-over-year

  • Strong visibility and engagement through campus activations and social content

  • Positive student feedback and program satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

  • Current post-secondary student

  • Passion for sustainability and environmental impact

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable engaging with students in-person and online

  • Self-starter who enjoys trying new ideas and building community

  • Experience with social media content creation is an asset

  • Leadership experience in clubs, student groups, athletics, or volunteer organizations is an asset

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on leadership and community engagement experience

  • Experience supporting behavior change and sustainability initiatives

  • Exposure to marketing, communications, and grassroots engagement strategies

  • Opportunity to make a measurable environmental impact on campus

  • Resume-building experience with a growing sustainability-focused company

Program Details

  • Commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per week

  • Location: On campus at your college or university

  • Term: Academic year / semester-based (flexible depending on campus needs)
