We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fire Fighter/Primary Care Paramedic to join our Fire Division within the Protective Services Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Yellowknife Fire Division is a dual service providing both firefighting and paramedic services to the community. Some of the duties may include:
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants are required to have:
Completion of NFPAHazmat 1006 Rescue and 1051 Wildland qualifications are considered assets.
SALARY AND PROGRESSION
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $83631 per annum along with a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan monthly vacation travel and vehicle allowances shift premiums and relocation assistance.
Career progression based on meeting minimum testing technical and physical requirements:
*2023 rates current salary rates are under negotiation
CLASS MATCHING
Candidates with prior experience in a recognized fire service who previously held Fire Fighter class 4 3 2 or 1 may be considered for class matching for salary purposes only provided that they meet all qualifications and criteria required by the City.
