About this role: Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Store Manager is responsible for the management of a major retail operation with sales in excess of $5 million. This includes providing leadership and direction, controlling costs and maximizing revenue. Additional responsibilities of this position include good customer relations skills, supervision of staff, developing teamwork, maintaining good staff morale, controlling employment costs, and analyzing and producing reports. In addition, the Manager is responsible for controlling stock levels and stock variance control and is accountable for ensuring acceptable levels of security in the store for both staff and physical assets. The Manager is expected to contribute to improving the Branch image by providing support to all Branch policies. The Manager is responsible for the hiring, training and development of staff, scheduling assignments and any labour relations matters.
A criminal record check is required.
Successful completion of Serving It Right TM certificate is required. Work may take place in office, retail and warehouse locations. The Store Manager may be required, on occasion, to safely diffuse potentially dangerous or violent situations. Must be available to work all shifts - days, nights and weekends as well as outside of established hours of operation, as and when required. This is a "hands-on" leadership role which may require: administrative and clerical duties; operating a cash register; lifting liquor cases up to 50 lbs. to varying heights; and operating a variety of mechanical and hand-operated equipment.

Position requirements: Education and Experience: - Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- A minimum one (1) year of recent experience* as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor within a customer-facing, service environment.
- Experience must include direct accountability for achieving and driving sales.
Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
- Experience working in a retail environment.
- Experience managing an environment with an annual sales volume of over $1 million.
- Experience with KPIs and visual presentation standards.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in business or retail management or successful completion of a supervisory/leadership course.
*Recent experience is defined as occurring within the past five (5) years.
