Scope of work
Will be responsible for asphalt replacements, concrete replacements, some structural steel, fireproofing, underground piping repairs (firewater, pot water, sani, storm, etc.), concrete containments, pedestal repairs / replacements, site grading, culverts repairs, turnaround planning including tank farm pads, general grading work. Hydrant replacements, PIVA replacements, manhole repairs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing maintenance and turnaround schedules for civil works (e.g., concrete, structural, excavation, grading).
- Prepare detailed work packages, including scope breakdowns, task sequencing, and required resources.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, and execution timelines.
- Support job walkdowns and site inspections to validate scope, identify constraints, and capture field requirements.
- Estimate labour, equipment, and material requirements for civil activities.
- Assist with scope change requests during execution and provide on-site planning support
- Assist in identifying critical path activities and potential risks to schedule performance.
- Collaborate with other discipline planners (mechanical, piping, E&I) to ensure fully integrated project schedules.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting for planning activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or civil construction, preferably within oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
- Required CSTS 2020
- Basic knowledge of civil construction practices, including earthworks, concrete, and structural installations.
- Exposure to turnarounds, shutdowns, or maintenance projects is an asset.
- Familiarity with planning and scheduling tools such as SAP, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of project planning principles (WBS, critical path, resource loading).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
