Job Summary:
As a Restoration/Flood Technician, you will be the first responders for homeowners who have suffered water loss to their homes. You will be responsible for assessing, mitigating and restoring properties affected by water damage or flooding. The primary role is to restore affected structures to their pre-damage condition and prevent further damage.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough initial assessments of affected areas.
- Detect moisture using moisture meters and other tools to find hidden moisture in walls, floors, and other structural components.
- Complete emergency-related tasks such as extracting water, carpet cleaning, general demolition, mould and bacteria remediation.
- Identify affected contents and cabinetry and protect unaffected contents and cabinetry from further damage.
- Set up and monitor industrial-grade drying equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers and heaters to facilitate the drying process.
- Monitor and regularly measure and record moisture levels.
- Understand the science of drying and psychrometry.
- Sample for asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials.
- Ability to disconnect toilets, washers, dryers, sinks, garburators, tubs, showers and faceplates.
- Ability to detach countertops and cabinets.
- Delegate work properly to labourers.
- Assisting with the training of new labourers and flood technicians.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed in detail.
- Communicate with homeowners, project managers, co-workers and other various stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with demolition, construction, carpentry, content and hazmat teams
- Accurately completing your timecard by the end of each day on ADP.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain and clean equipment regularly.
- Be proficient at various flood-related demo tasks while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintaining a neat and orderly company vehicle if assigned.

Compensation
- Wage: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

- Having a valid class 5 or novice BC driver’s license (to be presented at the time of hire).
- Participate to do overtime and on-call shift work.
- Ability to lift industrial fans 30 - 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to shave all facial hair at any time due to wearing either a full-face or half-face respirator.
- Ability to load/unload wheeled industrial dehumidifiers 130 - 140 lbs.
- Pass a criminal and driver’s abstract check, to our approval.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment.
- Construction or restoration experience is an asset.
- Must have their WRT certification from the IICRC.
- CCT, FRST, and ASBESTOS designations are all considered assets.
