The Role
Wood is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Director based out of our Calgary, Alberta office to join our dynamic team in Western Canada. Reporting to the VP of Business Development for Canada. This position will support Wood’s global and Canadian business units across consulting, projects, and operations, driving collaboration and growth across the organization. The successful candidate will contribute to projects spanning traditional onshore oil and gas as well as key areas of focus including Energy Transition, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Renewables, Alternative Fuels, Licensor Integration, BioProducts, Midstream, Pipelines, Thermal Upstream, Downstream Refining and Petrochemicals, Oilsands Mining and Offshore Oil & Gas.

Expected:
- Bachelor level degree in a technical or related field
- 12-15+ years experience in the Business Development and Project Execution Field
- Experience in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction industry
- Experience and hold key Client relationships within major Clients organizations in the Canadian Energy industry
- A sound understanding of projects in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries
- Proficient in use of Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools and systems
- Good understanding of the economic and commercial drivers in the EPC business
- Experienced with the key concepts of HSE leadership & commitment
- Preferable to have international operations experience
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office tools, Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate a proactive and outcome-driven attitude
- Ability to manage a diverse and challenging portfolio of Clients in various market sectors
- Hands-on approach with internal sales team; and willing to support the development of presentations, proposals, and commercial agreements
- Critical thinker with problem solving abilities
- Decisive, with ability to make decisions and follow through, ensuring learnings are captured
