The Physics Department at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a Sessional position starting Sept. 8, 2026. In this teaching-oriented position, the successful candidate will create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment while teaching first year physics, electronic properties to engineers and physics students. We are seeking candidates with a documented track record of a successful, reflective teaching practice at the post-secondary level. Candidates successful in this role will be eligible for right of first refusal for similar courses through the winter term.
QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have a Ph. D. or M. Sc. in physics or engineering with a focus on materials science/condensed matter, with at least five years teaching a full workload at a Canadian post-secondary institution and proven track record of teaching excellence. Assessment of applications will begin in June 2026 and will continue until the position is filled.

This position is subject to budgetary approval. Final workload and courses are scheduling and enrollment dependent.
