Job descriptionBusiness Systems Manager The Opportunity Our client, a long-established construction organization operating across Southern Ontario, is seeking a Business Systems Manager to take ownership of its core ERP and business systems environment. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for ERP governance, system administration, upgrades, vendor coordination, and driving consistent system usage across project, materials, and finance teams. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct influence on how the business operates day to day. Role Overview The Business Systems Manager leads the Business Systems & Technology function, with accountability for ERP administration, access controls, data integrity, process standardization, and user adoption. Working closely with Finance leadership and operational stakeholders, this role focuses on strengthening controls, improving workflows, supporting reporting, and ensuring the ERP platform scales effectively with business growth. Key Responsibilities ERP Ownership & Governance - Own ERP administration, including security roles, access standards, and user lifecycle management - Provide day-to-day system support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution - Enforce governance standards to maintain consistency and data quality Vendor Management & System Upgrades - Coordinate ERP vendors, support partners, and escalation activities - Lead system upgrades, including planning, testing, documentation review, and rollout support Process Standardization & Adoption - Standardize processes, templates, and SOPs across departments - Develop training materials, super-user structures, and adoption plans - Partner with stakeholders to improve workflows and reduce rework Reporting, Integrations & Continuous Improvement - Support integrations with operational tools and Microsoft 365 platforms (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) - Coordinate reporting standards and dashboards with leadership - Drive continuous improvement through practical enhancements to system usage and process performance Team Leadership - Provide day-to-day leadership and development support to an Associate Systems Manager - Set priorities, service standards, and documentation practices to support consistent delivery Required Experience & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field - 10+ years of experience supporting ERP or enterprise business systems - Strong experience with system governance, controls, and security role design - Proven ability to lead cross-functional change, training, and system adoption - Experience building scalable processes to support business growth Preferred Experience - CMiC ERP exposure - Construction or project-based operating environments - ERP integrations and third-party system coordination - Multi-entity or intercompany system environments - Development of system documentation and user training programs Core Competencies - Practical, service-oriented approach with strong follow-through - Strong coordination and prioritization skills - Ability to work effectively with finance, project, and operational teams - High attention to detail and consistency in enforcing standards - Strong documentation and communication skills
