Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, Community Services, the Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the directing, planning, organizing and overseeing of the dietary department to ensure the nutritional needs of every resident are met. Provides supervision and support to the dietary staff to ensure excellence in resident service provision. Provides input into the development, monitoring and assessment of dietary services and makes recommendations for improvements as necessary. Manages the selection, recruitment, training and performance of all direct reports.
Employment Guide:
- Must have completed/obtained a Cook’s diploma from an approved college and/or have the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Classification.
- Must possess or be able to obtain the Food Handlers Certificate as offered by Public Health Services within 60 days of employment and renewed every 5 years.
- 2-5 years leadership experience is an asset. Previous experience working in a 24/7 environment and/or with people with disabilities an asset.
- Must have practical knowledge and proven skill in institutional quantity cooking/quantity meal preparation.
- Must be able to read, understand and write in the English language, be able to follow verbal and written instruction, and maintain a clean/sanitary work area.
- Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance, be punctual and meet pre-determined deadlines for meal preparation.
- Must be able to adhere to relevant health and safety regulations/procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards, is willing to take on new challenges and develop professionally, and able to meet deadlines and work under
time constraints. - Demonstrates the ability to act as a role model and influence others, foster effective team work, and lead by example are essential for this position.
- Must possess a G licence and reliable vehicle for this position. Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Compensation/Salary Range: $55,102 - $60,822.67
