Job description
Reporting to the Manager, the WSIB specialized care program Clinic Lead Osler will support the development, growth and clinical flow oversight of day-to-day operations of the WSIB specialized care program. The program is an outpatient assessment and treatment program for injured workers who require interdisciplinary assessment, diagnostic and rehabilitation services to assist them in their return to work and function. The role requires a mixture of hands-on clinical work and administrative responsibilities including staff oversight and liaison with key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work within our WSIB Trillium Health Partners/Osler partnership in the coordination of WSIB specialized care services with the appropriate health care and administrative professionals. This includes the review, interpretation and auditing of reports, facilitating conferences as needed, participation in data collection and analysis of business benchmarks and clinical outcome measures. Participation in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation are also part of this role.
Accountabilities:
- Works closely with the program manager to ensure effective and efficient program operations
- Tracks and monitors key performance indicators as required
- Reviews reports and provides coaching and feedback to the interdisciplinary team
- Acts as a lead contact and liaison with internal and external stakeholders
- Summarizes complex assessment findings, facilitates case conferences and ensures consensus amongst the interdisciplinary team
- Performs clinical assessment work within professional scope and provides treatment services if required
- Acts a resource for the team on clinical matters and supports ongoing education and knowledge translation
- Supervision of PTA/OTA and support personal as required
- Supervision of students as required
- Coordination of WSIB services with appropriate health care and administrative professional
- Liaise with WSIB and community health care professionals
- Review and interpret reports and facilitate case conferences with WSIB
- Participation in the collection and analysis of business benchmarks and clinical outcome measures
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team model provided evidence based, outcome oriented care and recommendations
- Provides therapy services in keeping with the respective College guidelines and standards of practice
- Participates in continuous quality improvement and evaluation
Job qualifications
- Registration with relevant regulatory body (i.e. Ontario College of Physiotherapists or College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario or College of Physiotherapists of Ontario) required
- Professional membership with relevant association is preferred
- Relevant three to five years experience in treating a variety of MSK/neuro conditions in an ambulatory care setting, return to work planning, functional evaluation, work conditioning and return to work strategies are required
- Experience providing services with a strong quality improvement focus to third party payers including WSIB required
- Strong ability to successfully coach, develop and mentor allied health professionals and physicians to improve program quality required
- Previous experience with WSIB specialized care program patient population preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional patient care team
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills required
- Good computer skills and experience with electronic documentation preferred
- Evidence of continuing education and ongoing professional development
- Good critical-thinking and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent attendance and work record

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, Monday to Friday (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:
Minimum: $101,517.00
Maximum: $126,886.50
