Join the County of Elgin as a Temporary Part-time Dietary Aide at Terrace Lodge!Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Our home is situated in beautiful Elgin County and features private and basic accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Recently re-developed Terrace Lodge feels warm welcoming and thoughtfully designed with residents comfort at its heart. Sunlit communal areas feature modern finishes and comfortable seating that encourage social connection and relaxation. Homelike details promote dignity and independence while providing a safe space that residents are proud to call home. Position Title: Dietary AideType: Part-time TemporaryCompensation: $27.11 - $27.56/hour as per collective agreement# of Vacancies: 2 new vacanciesAbout the Role:As a Dietary Aide you will be responsible for basic food preparation assisting the Cook where needed and handling food in accordance with safety and sanitary regulations. You will also be responsible for service of food setting and clearing tables and receiving goods delivered to the dietary department. Attention to detail is key as you will keep accurate records while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment (knowing the proper procedures for operating and cleaning all equipment utensils work services etc. used in food service areas).Qualifications:Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program meeting the requirements of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act 2021Current Food Handling CertificateA passion for serving others and providing quality careCook diploma (an asset)Excellent communication skillsWhat You Can Expect as an Employee:Competitive compensation 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay paid every enrollment in the OMERS Pension Plan (if enrolled in lieu of benefits will reduce to 9%)Employee & Family Assistance Program (Homewood Health)Rewarding and meaningful workFlexible scheduling through the Staff Schedule Care app including shift swapping and giveawaysConditions of Employment:Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to the County of 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) screening now!
