About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in strengthening relationships with our clients while helping them navigate complex disability management, claims, and employee wellness challenges. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will bridge the gap between client expectations, operational claims decisions, and business objectives, ensuring solutions are balanced, practical, and aligned with policy.

This role may be of particular interest to professionals currently working as a Wellness Program Manager, Manager of Disability Programs & Wellness, Manager of Workplace Wellness & Disability Management, Disability Management Consultant, Health & Wellness Manager, Employee Health Strategist, or other client-facing disability management and wellness leadership positions.

We're looking for a highly collaborative professional with strong disability management and wellness expertise, as well as exceptional relationship-building skills. Working closely with clients, group account teams, claims leaders, and internal stakeholders, you will provide consultation on disability-related concerns, deliver wellness-focused education, and support the development of innovative health initiatives that improve employee outcomes.

During your first year, your primary focus will be building relationships with key client groups, supporting health and wellness activities, and establishing yourself as a trusted resource on disability management and claims-related matters. Success in this role means creating strong client partnerships, effectively managing complex stakeholder conversations, and helping clients better understand and support their employees through health, wellness, and disability-related challenges.

The ideal candidate combines technical disability management knowledge with strong emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and influencing skills. If you enjoy solving complex problems, navigating competing priorities, and developing creative solutions that create value for clients and the organization, this is the role for you!

This role is currently working hybrid from home and from our head office in Burnaby, BC. Apply this week if you would like to take on this role.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact

If you're motivated by the opportunity to influence health outcomes while strengthening client relationships, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across Pacific Blue Cross. You will serve as a critical connection between clients, business teams, and claims operations, helping stakeholders navigate complex situations and identify mutually beneficial solutions.

Your ability to communicate technical disability management concepts, manage escalated concerns, and build trust with diverse stakeholders will help clients better understand claims decisions while enhancing their overall experience. Through proactive consultation and strategic relationship management, you will support client retention, strengthen confidence in PBC's disability management expertise, and reinforce our reputation as a trusted partner.

You will also play an important role in advancing workplace health and wellness by delivering educational sessions, participating in industry events, and developing innovative initiatives that help organizations support employee wellbeing and prevent disability-related challenges before they occur.

As a trusted advisor and relationship builder, you will help bring together often competing perspectives to create positive outcomes for clients, employees, and Pacific Blue Cross, while contributing to the long-term success and growth of the organization.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Disability Management, Occupational Health or related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in data governance, analytics, and emerging AI applications.
  • 5-8 years of related experience and success in the management/design of organizational health and welfare plans at a consulting or leadership level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the disability insurance industry and the key players in Canada.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to diagnose client issues, collaborate, and leverage related expertise to drive effective solutions, supported by exceptional executive‑level communication and presentation skills,
  • Deeply proficient critical thinker with superior ability to surface underlying customer issues/concerns and identifying root causes in order to develop recommendations
  • Works effectively with vendors and internal and external partners to reach practical agreements, and uses data to understand what’s happening, spot patterns, and support better decisions.
  • Strong affinity, knowledge, and expertise with regards to the use of metrics and analytics to further understand trends, predict outcomes and drive change

It’s preferred and considered an asset if you have:

  • Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Excellence Professional (CEP) designation, or equivalent
