Job description
Securiguard is currently hiring a full-time Health and Safety Advisor to support our Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Aviation portfolio across Metro Vancouver. Securiguard Services Limited has been at the forefront of asset protection for almost fifty years with leading-edge innovative security and safety solutions. Today, Securiguard is one of the largest and most trusted private security organizations in Canada.As a Health and Safety (H&S) Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with client management, Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees (JOHSC), and employees across healthcare sites to support Securiguard's commitment to health and safety. Reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, you will also provide healthcare-specific expertise and guidance across the VCH portfolio.If this role sounds in line with your health and safety career, then we want to hear from you!What you would do:Active participation in all incident calls and investigations. Act as a lead investigator as requiredAssist sites by providing accurate interpretations of applicable H&S legislation, WorkSafeBC requirements, and healthcare safety standards, and support implementation of the corporate HSE management system.Actively engage and support assigned VCH sites in safety program implementation, internal and external audits, safety performance management, and proactive injury prevention initiatives.Network and liaise with external stakeholders such as customers, contractors, and regulators to facilitate and initiate H&S activitiesProvide accurate professional assessment and feedback regarding risk management, such as the definition of reasonable risk and accepted safe practicesDeliver effective and interactive HSE presentations, workshops, and training programs that will increase the knowledge and participation of Securiguard's employees in the corporate H&S management systemCoordinating and managing compensation claims and facilitating timely GRTW plansWhat you would bring:Passionate about health and safety practices Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstractDiploma and/or certification in health and safety Knowledge in incident investigation (Root Cause, SCAT, etc.,) is considered an assetA team player with great organizational, time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skillsKnowledge of return-to-work programs and case managementAbility to travel to branches and client sites on a regular basis to champion boots-on-the-ground safetyWhy Join Us Fun Events Year-Round: From big celebrations to small get-togethers, we love finding reasons to celebrate.Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive, values-driven team where everyone has a voice and wants you to succeed.Training & Growth Opportunities: Continuous learning is part of who we are - expect workshops, micro-lessons, mentorship, and hands-on projects that build your skills for today and your career tomorrow.Purpose-Driven Work: Be part of an award-winning organization recognized for its culture of respect, empathy, and accountability - where every person contributes to making people feel safe.At Securiguard, we live by our R.E.A.C.H. values:Respect · Empathy · Accountability · Courtesy · HonestyAt Securiguard, you'll be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and employee growth.
