Position Summary
The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a senior finance leader responsible for driving enterprise‑wide financial insight, decision support, and value creation. This role partners closely with executive leadership to deliver forward‑looking analytics, build scalable business intelligence capabilities, optimize financial and operational processes, and evaluate strategic opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial acumen with advanced analytics, people leadership, and a hands‑on approach to transforming how the business plans, measures, and executes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Lead the annual budgeting, and long‑range planning processes across the organization.
- Develop and maintain integrated financial models linking income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet.
- Lead the Reporting team to provide insightful variance analysis and actionable recommendations to executive leadership and business partners.
- Improve and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards to track financial and operational performance.
Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics
- Build and scale the finance team’s business intelligence and analytics capabilities, including tools, data models, and reporting standards.
- Partner with IT, data, and business teams to improve data quality, automation, and self‑service reporting.
- Leverage analytics to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Champion a data‑driven culture across finance and the broader organization.
People Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing FP&A and analytics team.
- Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
- Standardize planning, reporting, and analysis processes across business units.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to functional leaders.
Strategic Analysis, M&A & Investments
- Lead financial evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments.
- Support due diligence efforts, including quality of earnings, synergy analysis, and risk assessment.
- Partner with executive leadership on capital allocation, ROI analysis, and post‑acquisition integration planning.
- Provide ongoing performance tracking and reporting for acquired businesses and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or a related field;
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling FP&A and business intelligence functions. Project Management experience, an asset.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong technical experience in financial systems, BI tools, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI, AI solutions, or similar).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
