Position Overview:
The Fueling Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of aviation fueling services. This role oversees daily fueling operations, personnel management, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and customer service to ensure all aircraft are serviced safely and on schedule. The position ensures operations meet company standards, client airline requirements, and aviation fuel safety regulations.
This is a full-time salaried position for which regular attendance to meet immediate business demands is an essential requirement. Due to the nature of our business hours of work are to be flexible (shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays) with additional hours possibly required during certain peak periods. Position will require ability to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by Transport Canada or TSA and/or local Airport Authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
Operational Management
- Manage all daily aircraft fueling operations to ensure safe and timely fuel delivery.
- Monitor fuel inventory levels and coordinate with fuel suppliers to maintain adequate supply.
- Ensure all fueling activities comply with safety and operational standards.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce adherence to aviation fuel safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, or safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory authorities such as airport authorities and aviation regulators.
Team Leadership
- Recruitment, onboarding, employee training and development for the station.
- Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all operational shifts.
- Promote a strong safety culture and operational discipline among team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans when required.
Equipment and Asset Management
- Oversee maintenance and operational readiness of fuel trucks, hydrant systems, and fueling equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure proper calibration and inspection of fueling equipment.
Customer and Airline Relations
- Serve as the primary operational contact for airline customers regarding fueling services.
- Ensure service levels meet contractual obligations and performance targets.
- Resolve operational issues and maintain positive client relationships.
Reporting and Administration
- Track operational performance metrics such as on-time fueling, safety incidents, and fuel throughput.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain required documentation.
- Manage departmental budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation.
- To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in aviation fueling, ground handling, or fuel operations.
- Industry related supervisory and/or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of aviation fuel standards, fueling procedures, and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate fueling vehicles and equipment.
Required Skills and Competencies:

- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).

- Airport ramp and operational environment.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:
- Position may involve standing or sitting for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs when required.
- Good vision and depth perception to safely operate fueling equipment and vehicles in a busy ramp environment.
Travel:
Position requires domestic travel, possibly on short notice, to meet immediate business needs.
