Job description
Green Leaf Psychological Services is seeking a personable, skilled Registered Counsellor to join our established private practice clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia with full-time and part-time opportunities.
This position offers flexible working hours, generous compensation, health benefits, and a full clinical caseload on day one, without the stress of running your own practice or being limited to a 9-5 traditional position.
Our newly renovated, fully furnished offices are bright, modern, and located in a professional building in the heart of Halifax, surrounded by physicians, dentists, pharmacies, yoga studios, and other complementary services. We receive a very high volume of referrals from Halifax, Bedford, and Dartmouth, and are currently unable to meet demand.
Successful candidates join with a full caseload ready immediately, or whenever you choose to take this on. We offer a warm, supportive environment, full administrative support, regular peer consultations, and a genuine emphasis on work-life balance.
Why Choose Green Leaf?
  • Full caseload provided - no marketing or networking required.
  • Flexible scheduling - choose weekdays, evenings, or a mix.
  • No minimum hours (set your own availability).
  • Fully furnished, modern office space in a central location.
  • Full-time in-office administrative support - intakes, scheduling, client screening, payments, etc.
  • Collaborative, friendly clinical team.
  • Regular peer consultations.
  • Work–life balance built into our practice model.
  • Health benefits.

Compensation:
  • Estimated annual earnings: $130,000 - $140,000.
  • Above-market compensation with most counsellors exceeding $130,000 in their very first year.

Qualifications:
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Counselling or Psychology.
  • Registered with The Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.
  • Experience providing treatment and intervention services for adults, and/or couples, and/or teens.
  • Interest in working in a supportive, private practice environment.

Who This Opportunity Is Perfect For:
  • Counsellors wanting the freedom of private practice without the administrative burden.
  • Counsellors transitioning from hospital, community mental health, other private practice clinics, or government settings.
  • Counsellors seeking higher income, more autonomy, and flexible hours.
  • Counsellors who currently find themselves in less than healthy or toxic workplaces (unfortunately they do exist). We are very focused on maintaining a healthy, friendly, and respectful clinic.
  • Counsellors in Nova Scotia who are currently operating independently but do not have a full caseload.

How to Apply:
  • Note: This position is open to residents of Canada only.
  • Please submit your resume and cover letter by email (info@GreenLeafPsychological.com), or visit our website for more details and to submit online: https://www.greenleafpsychological.com/counsellor-jobs-halifax-nova-scotia.html.

We would love to hear from you.
Even if you’re just exploring options, feel free to reach out with any questions!
