Real Estate Notary

About the Role:

A growing legal practice is seeking a skilled Notary Business Law to advise entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a notary with strong business law expertise who enjoys building client relationships and providing practical legal guidance throughout the business lifecycle, from incorporation and corporate structuring to transactions and ongoing advisory services.

The successful candidate will manage files independently while collaborating with experienced legal professionals on complex mandates. Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on real estate transactions, including property purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinancing.
  • Draft, review, and authenticate notarial deeds, including deeds of sale, mortgage deeds, and related legal documents.
  • Conduct title searches and verify the legal status of properties to support compliant transactions.
  • Manage real estate files from opening through closing, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Coordinate with clients, financial institutions, lenders, real estate professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Review transaction documentation and ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws and regulations.
  • Identify potential legal risks associated with property transactions and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct legal research on real estate legislation, regulations, and related legal matters.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure all required documentation is properly prepared and executed.
  • Provide clear, responsive communication and guidance to clients throughout the transaction process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Notary in Quebec or eligible for admission to practice as a notary in Quebec.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate law, property transactions, and notarial procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience handling real estate files, including purchases, sales, mortgage financing, and refinancing.
  • Excellent legal drafting skills and experience preparing notarial deeds and transaction documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client service and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms, notarial software, and document management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple files independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
