310T Truck Mechanic - North Bay

The Long-Haul division headquartered in Ayr, Ontario specializes in the hauling and transportation of waste from transfer stations to their final destination of the landfills.

We are currently seeking licensed 310 T technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services
• Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and assign repairs
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conducts safety checks on all vehicles and equipment
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associates with repairing vehicles, documenting part usage and accounting for repair times
• Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate / OHSA standards
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Working alongside apprentices to provide them with assistance and guidance
• Basic Maintenance on small mobile equipment such as skid steer, forklift and small wheel loader
• Some recycling facility maintenance (MRF) will be required such as but not limited to;

Troubleshooting hydraulic systems,

Greasing and adjusting of conveyors

Replacing rollers

Replacing bearings

Basic maintenance items

Housekeeping

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies :

• 310 T Truck and Coach License
• Valid G driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
• Own tools are required
• Experience with welding will be considered an asset
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Applicants with 3+ years’ experience will be viewed with priority
