Excavator Operator – Civil Construction
Our client, a well-established civil contractor operating across the Lower Mainland, is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to support ongoing infrastructure and underground utility projects.
This role involves operating equipment safely and efficiently on active civil construction sites alongside site supervision and field crews.
Responsibilities
• Operate excavators safely on civil construction sites
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling
• Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Ensure equipment remains in safe working condition
• Follow ground disturbance and site safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with crews and supervision
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators in civil construction
• Experience working around utilities, trenching, and excavation work
• Familiar with various equipment sizes (excavators, loaders, skid steers)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
• Ground disturbance or equipment certifications considered an asset
• Safety-focused with strong reliability and teamwork
Work Environment
• Full-time, field-based role
• Projects located throughout the Lower Mainland
• Travel between sites required
• Extended hours may be required depending on project needs
