Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decision-making and process improvements within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close procedures and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system (NetSuite).
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and other management reports for each month-end
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting packages for management and stakeholders
• Monitor cash flow, credit, and collections activities
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data, variance analysis, and recommendations to inform strategic planning
• File HST returns accurately and on time in compliance with CRA requirements
• Participate in the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions while supporting the AP and AR team
• Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Director of Finance
• Handle other duties and projects as assigned

Education & Experience:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role
• NetSuite ERP experience is a strong asset

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
