Description Automotive service technicians inspectdiagnose repair and service mechanical electrical and electronicsystems and components of cars buses and light and commercialtransport trucks.

They are employed by motor vehicle dealersgarages truck and trailer dealerships fleet maintenance companiesand service stations automotive specialty shops transportationcompanies and retail establishments which have automotive serviceshops.

Jobduties

• Reviewwork orders and discuss work withsupervisor
• Inspect motor in operation road testmotor vehicle and test automotive systems and components usingcomputerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose andisolate faults
• Adjust repair or replace partsand components of automotive systems including fuel system brakessteering and suspension engine and drive train emission control andexhaust cooling and climate control and electrical and electronicsystems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repairequipment
• Test and adjust repaired systems tomanufacturers performancespecifications
• Perform scheduled maintenanceservice such as oil changes lubrications and tuneups
• Advise customers on work performed generalvehicle condition and future repairrequirements.
• Inspect and test mechanical unitssuch as engines transmissions axles and brake systems to locatefaults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults ormalfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determinewhether to repair or replace unit
• Repair orreplace mechanical units or components using hand and powertools
• Test and adjust units to specificationsfor proper performance
• Complete reports torecord problems and work performed.
• Adjustrepair or replace parts and components of commercial transporttruck systems including chassis frame cab body engine and drivetrain air brakes steering and fuel hydraulic electrical andelectronic systems
• Adjust repair or replaceparts and components of trucktrailer systems including structuralbrake and electricalsystems.

Requirements

• Provenexperience as automotive mechanic(must have experience of working7200 Hours)
• Excellent knowledge of mechanicalelectrical and electronic components ofvehicles
• Working knowledge of vehiclediagnostic systems and methods
• Ability tohandle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g.lift)
• Willingness to observe all safetyprecautions for protections against accidents dangerous fluidschemicals etc.
• Excellent physicalcondition
• High school diploma is preferred;Certification from a vocational school or completion ofapprenticeship is preferred
• Valid certificationand license as mechanic
