General Operator

JOB SUMMARY:

The General Operator performs production tasks in support of manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Placement within a specific production area will be based on business needs.

COMPENSATION

• Up to $24.00/hour to start

• Night shift premium: an additional $2.00/hour for night shift hours

JOB TASKS:

  • Operates and monitors production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Sets up, adjusts, and performs basic troubleshooting on machinery as required
  • Inspects products and materials to ensure they meet quality specifications
  • Maintains accurate production records and reports defects or deviations to the supervisor
  • Keeps work area clean, organized, and compliant with SQF and safety standards
  • Works collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Follows all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to operate and monitor production machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Good mechanical aptitude; ability to perform basic equipment adjustments
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to work well with deadlines
  • Good reading, comprehension, and mathematical skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability and willingness to work scheduled rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and perform duties involving standing for extended periods, stretching, and repetitive motion

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Secondary school (High School) diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, and nights

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working in a flexographic packaging environment
  • Familiarity with quality control or inspection processes
