Our office in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is looking for a hardworking, dedicated and professional Accountant to join the Finance team.

Summary of the Role :

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Accountant will support senior accounting staff in managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Reporting :

• Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Generate detailed financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.

Financial Record Maintenance & Analysis :

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
• Reconcile and maintain expense accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies & irregularities.

Compliance :

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and Canadian Tax Regulations.
• Ensures financial reporting and government filing deadlines are met.

Audit Support :

Prepares for financial audit and assist in supporting external audits.

Process Improvement :

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency measures.
• Streamline accounting processes to enhance accuracy and timeliness.

Team Collaboration :

Work closely with the finance team to ensure a seamless and collaborative working environment.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Enrollment in the CPA program would be an asset.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
