You as a Dietary Aide will :
Report to the Supervisor of Patient Food Services, the principal duty of a Dietary Aide is to deliver quality dietary service in a health-care environment. Areas to be covered include customer service, safe food-handling techniques, safety, nutrition, communications, food and beverage preparation and service.
Is this the right role for you?
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Ability to read / understand verbal work orders, instructions, short notes and / or brief forms in English language.
- One (1) year food services experience, preferably in a health care environment
- Active Basic Food Safety Certificate (proof required)
- Able to perform moderate physical exertion, visual and / or auditory concentration, manual dexterity and / or strain.
- Work requires repetitive physical exertion, effort, and strain. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 5 to 10 kilograms / 11-22 pounds.
- Exposure to physical hazards, health, and safety risks, severely adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment. Personal risks require safety equipment or precautions to be followed closely. Must be able to work where exposed to infection, blood / human waste, odors, and work interruptions.
- Ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment.
