Are you an energetic warehouse professional who thrives in an active, independent environment? Our client in Markham is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join their dynamic team. In this specialized role within our growing manufacturing & logistics sector, you will be the go-to person ensuring the facility operates smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently. This is a temporary ongoing position with an immediate start, offering a guaranteed duration of at least 3 months, with a strong possibility of being extended based on your performance and shifting business needs.
As a Warehouse Associate in this specific facility, your day-to-day duties will feature a unique blend of responsibilities designed to maintain an organized and productive logistics hub. Approximately 70% of your daily tasks will focus on industrial housekeeping and cleaning. This essential part of the role includes maintaining aisle cleanliness, removing debris, sorting waste, wiping down equipment, and ensuring that all work zones meet top-tier safety compliance. The remaining 30% of your role will involve core warehouse and material handling tasks. These tasks include loading and unloading shipments, receiving incoming inventory, sorting production parts, picking orders, and packing items for dispatch. From time to time, you will also be required to use a counterbalance forklift to safely transport heavier goods across the floor. You will work within a small, supportive team, but you will largely manage your routine independently, making self-motivation and a strong work ethic key components of your success.
Located near the major intersection of Woodbine & 14th Ave in Markham, the facility is situated in an industrial commercial corridor that is unfortunately not situated on a direct public transit bus route. Because there is no active bus route nearby, it is highly ideal and recommended that the successful candidate possesses a reliable personal vehicle to ensure consistent attendance for the regular daily shift. The shift runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, giving you a stable routine with weekends off. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $19 per hour, which is paid weekly, providing financial stability while you build valuable, versatile experience within the manufacturing & logistics industry.
