Your potential is here! Division: ATCO Electric. Location: Multiple (Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lloydminster). Duration: 8, 12 or 16 months. Salary: $28 - $36/hour, dependent upon previous work-term experience. Start Date: January 2026. Relocation: Relocation assistance will be provided.

Who you are
- Must be enrolled in an Engineering co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication using appropriate technical vocabulary
- Valid Class 5 driver\'s license

- Asset Information and Tools — Discipline: Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Prepare and review process documentation, work instructions, and issue briefs
- Use SQL and Python to query, process, report, and work with asset management data
- Support User Acceptance Testing for new and existing applications
- Support manual and automatic data entry into enterprise applications
- Software Used: SQL, Python
- Asset Strategy & Analytics and Asset Modernization — Discipline: Electrical | Location: Edmonton
- Asset Strategy & Analytics Description: Review deficiencies, assist in work approval, use SQL to query, process, report, and work with asset data; apply analytics to identify asset repair or replacement programs; engage stakeholders and lead solution development; assist in planning yearly capital maintenance programs
- Software Used: Microsoft Office Suite, NetWorks GIS Explorer, Maximo, SQL
- Asset Modernization Description: Develop and review SCADA points lists, support Distribution SCADA projects, validate SCADA points with System Operators, develop automated tools for new products, track project costs
- Software Used: Microsoft Office Suite, NetWorks GIS Explorer, Maximo, Vendor Specific Software (ABB, G&W, etc.)
- Asset Management, Asset Programs — Discipline: Electrical | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Data quality analysis and improvement plans, analytics, reporting, and collaboration with subject matter experts
- Software Used: Microsoft Office Suite, Maximo, SQL Developer, Networks
- Working Conditions: 100% Office-based; Hybrid Schedule
- Distribution Design Engineering — Discipline: Electrical, Civil Engineering | Location: Grande Prairie, Lloydminster
- Description: Design using AutoCAD, structural loading calculations, overhead clearance, material sizing, cost and material estimates
- Hybrid schedule; 95% office-based, 5% field-based
- Software Used: Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD
- Telecom Engineering — Discipline: Electrical, Computer, Communication Engineering | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Design to modernize/expand telecom systems, drafting, mapping, pre/post-commissioning, telecom network design software, data analysis for planning
- Software Used: Microsoft Office 365, Google Earth Pro, MicroStation
- CCM Expediter — Discipline: Electrical | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Deliverables coordination, cross-department collaboration, client communications, data entry and analysis; 100% office-based with field opportunities
- Software Used: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365, Networks, Abadata, ArcGIS, ATCO Project Server, Oracle, Maximo
- Automation and SCADA — Discipline: Electrical, Computer, Communication Engineering | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Design and spec of substation automation systems; participate in design reviews; develop procedures; work on small projects with standard-compliant deviations
- Software Used: MicroStation, Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, DS Agile
- Substation Engineering – Protection and Control — Discipline: Electrical Engineering | Location: Edmonton
- Description: Prepare transmission substation P&C design and settings work packages; QA, drafting coordination; compliance activities; arc flash studies
- Software Used: IPS, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Maximo, AcSELerator Quickset, Digsi
- Asset Strategy & Analytics and Asset Modernization — Location: Edmonton
- Description: Same as above with emphasis on analytics and asset data management; includes reporting tools and stakeholder engagement
- Software Used: Microsoft Office, NetWorks GIS Explorer, Maximo, SQL
- Working Conditions: 100% Office-based; Hybrid Schedule
- E-mobility, Microgrids and Safety Code — Location: Edmonton
- Description: Design and drawings with MicroStation; renewables and microgrids project support; project planning, site visits, and cost tracking
- Software Used: Microsoft Office 365, AutoCAD, MicroStation
