Job Opportunity: Group Support Facilitator

Maternal Minds, a not-for-profit organization that supports the mental health and well-being of Muslim mothers and families, is seeking a Group Support Facilitator. The facilitator will support groups with the main leader, helping participants connect, share experiences, and work through challenges in a safe and respectful environment. Type: Part-Time (In-Person)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, non-judgmental environment that encourages open communication and sharing of personal experiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all participants.
  • Provide information and resources on relevant topics when appropriate.
  • Keep track of attendance, group progress, and any follow-up actions needed.

Qualifications:

  • Background in Psychology, Women’s Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Muslim community needs.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse communities and a commitment to culturally sensitive practices.
  • Experience in group facilitation, counselling, social work, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of group dynamics and experience handling group challenges.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
