Duties

Visitor services and revenue collection at entrance gateways, information / visitor centres, campgrounds, kiosks, and on park grounds to enhance the visitor experience.

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canadas outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory. This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience in interacting with the public in a tourism capacity.

This position requires the incumbent to :

Be willing to work shift-work, and / or weekends, and / or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.

Be willing to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required.

Be willing to take training and update certification as required by the employer.

Be willing to work from various work locations.

Housing is provided.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance with credit check.

Maintenance of a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Drivers License, or other provincial equivalency.
