OVERVIEW
The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E / I Technician) works as part of the maintenance team to complete day to day electrical and instrumentation repairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Work safely while conducting required duties and have a strong dedication to working safely
- Maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment through predictive and preventative maintenance strategies including, but not limited to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCSs (Distributed Control Systems), AC / DC variable speed drives, and power distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment as needed
- Work as part of a team and independently as required
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have :
A Red Seal Certificate in Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation Technician, or other applicable tradeA diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology (Power & Controls) or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Technology will also be considered5+ years of experience working in a similar industrial environmentExperience working in an industrial environmentAbility to build and maintain relationships in difficult circumstancesAvailability for evenings and weekends, and 8 or 12 hour shifts as requiredCompensation
The E / I Technician is paid in accordance with the Unifor, Local 96 collective agreement. The starting rate for a journeyperson is $44.25 per hour.
