Job description
Our Client

Celebrating 30 years of providing the Tsawwassen area with high-quality repairs on all makes and models of vehicles, including Tesla and other electric models, our Client is an ICBC-accredited Collision Repair Shop focused on getting you back on the road in pre-accident condition. With expertise in glass, body & mechanical repairs for both insurance and private pay clients, the only thing better than having your car worked on at our Client's shop is working IN our Client's shop!

What Makes Them Unique?

Unlike other Collision Shops that operate with a two-team repair system, this shop has been operating with a three-team repair system for over 10 years, with all pre-repair disassembly done by a Mechanical /Electronics team. The vehicle is then transferred to the Repair team for structural and surface repair work. After the repairs are completed, the vehicle is sent to the Paint team and, finally, back to the Mechanical/Electronics team for assembly. Each of the three departments (four with Glass) resides in their own space, in 3 closely aligned buildings, each with a complete set of equipment necessary to perform their job duties. As a result, this shop rarely has to sublet services to external partners and can complete nearly all repairs (including those on EVs) in-house.

The Opportunity

The current vacancy we are looking to fill is on the Mechanical/Electronics team, which is why we are exclusively looking for Red Seal or Senior Apprentice-level Automotive Service Technicians to take on the exciting role of Mechanical Calibration Technician. The successful candidate will be a diagnostic specialist, passionate about staying up-to-date on current industry trends and technology in an effort to deliver the best overall service possible.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Delta, BC. Only current residents of Greater Vancouver with reliable transportation to and from the Delta area will be considered, as relocation assistance and/or international sponsorship are not offered at this time.

What's in it for You?

  • A fast-paced, team-oriented environment where everyone is truly working toward a common goal of quality while being compensated with a competitive base salary of between $80k - $90k annually (this is not a flat rate or bonus-driven environment)

  • Monday-Friday position with REAL work/life balance. NO WEEKENDS!

  • Comprehensive Benefits Program at a shared cost AND a company RRSP program with company match - taking care of your present and future needs

  • Ample opportunities for professional growth through ongoing training and potential for further advancement

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working as an Automotive Service Technician.

  • Red Seal or Journeyman Status is strongly preferred, but highly skilled Level 3 apprentices will be considered.

  • Comprehensive mechanical and calibration knowledge for a wide variety of makes and models.

  • A diagnostic specialist who stays up-to-date on current industry trends and technology.

  • Extensive knowledge and previous experience performing service on Electric Vehicles (EVs) is strongly preferred.

  • Meticulously detailed with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to prioritize work to ensure maximum efficiency

  • Physically capable of lifting 50lbs+

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with complete fluency in English is required.

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Complete pre-scans of vehicles to diagnose potential hidden damage before repair

  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles for repair

  • Conduct post-scans of vehicles following repair completion to ensure no additional issues were introduced during the repair process and that all previously identified issues have been fixed.

  • Test and adjust vehicle sensors, cameras, radar units and ultrasonic transmitters as needed.

  • Perform Static and Dynamic Calibrations to ensure all sensors (ADAS, Tire Pressure, Wheel Alignment, Steering, Camera, Radar, Headlight, Speedometer, Odometer, Fuel System, etc.) are functioning at OEM standards

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by minimizing clutter and using only approved tools for repair.

  • Actively participate in maintaining the overall facility, health and safety standards and best business practices.
