Venor is proud to partner with Iron Dog on their search for a Design-Build Project Manager to lead their Energy Retrofit projects.

Iron Dog is a locally owned full service mechanical contractor that has been providing superior mechanical systems services since 1971.

Iron Dog prides themselves on rolling up their sleeves, getting their hands dirty and accomplishing the toughest jobs to help buildings in Atlantic Canada perform better.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Design-Build Project Manager will play a key role in helping our clients reach their Net Zero goals by working with them to design the best solution to improve their building efficiencies then overseeing the project implementation from start to finish.

As the Design-Build Project Manager you will be a valuable member on our growing team to provide mechanical expertise for our Energy Retrofit projects.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and provide technical oversight for Energy Retrofit projects.
  • Prepare drawings that meet client specifications.
  • Provide engineering sign-off on projects.
  • Manage the timeline / budget for multiple job sites.
  • Coordinate with Service Manager to ensure human resources are available to complete jobs on time / on budget.
  • Act as the main customer point of contact for jobs.
  • Seek new business from existing customers by providing energy retrofit solutions.
  • Responsible for the quality completion of assigned jobs.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures.

Requirements and Credentials :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of Nova Scotia or eligible to obtain designation right away.
  • Minimum 5 10 years of mechanical building design experience.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience or knowledge.
  • Up to date knowledge of advances in the HVAC industry (ex : new tools, equipment, trends)

Skills and Capabilities :

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at different project stages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with project staff.
  • Customer focused to resolve any project issues with the client.
  • Excellent teamwork skills to work as a leader as well as a team player.
  • WHMIS, OH&S, Fall Arrest, First Aid Certifications

Working Conditions :

All work is performed at residential, construction and industrial sites. Limited travel may be required including overnight stays.
