POSITION : Translator (English to French), IntraLink

PURPOSE : Translate from English to French a variety of bank-related documents using sound knowledge of banking products and services.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will :

Translate from English to French bank-related content (job aids, manuals and process guides, FAQs, and other communications) for branch employees in an online editing platform.

Ensure that the style is clear, the message from the original English text is conveyed into French, and deadlines are met.

  • Make optimal use of translation software to ensure consistency within documents and increase efficiency.
  • If required, contact the requestor to obtain further information regarding the request.
  • Conduct the necessary research to justify the use of terminology specific to certain texts and contribute to the department's terminology database on a continuous basis.
  • Provide high-quality services to partners by meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements.
  • Consult with other members of the department regarding terminology, work with colleagues on projects with tight deadlines and, in general, contribute to maintaining a harmonious work environment.

This position requires the following skills and experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a translator
  • B.A. with specialization in English to French translation
  • Thorough knowledge of French and English
  • Attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of bank products and services
  • Good knowledge of translation software and MS Office applications
  • Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
  • Member of OTTIAQ, an asset
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, an asset
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
