We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our dynamic Critical Care team supporting Unit 22 and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This role is ideal for a passionate critical care nurse leader who is committed to advancing clinical excellence, supporting staff development, and helping shape the future of cardiac and critical care services within our organization.In this role, you will lead the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of educational initiatives that support nursing practice within a fast-paced, high-acuity critical care environment. Working closely with frontline staff, physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in building a strong culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement across Unit 22 and CCU. You will work collaboratively with leadership teams to identify learning needs related to patient outcomes, staff feedback, quality indicators, incident trends, organizational priorities, and best practice standards. The educator will also support initiatives focused on strengthening critical care culture, improving team communication, and enhancing clinical confidence in complex patient care situations. This position requires a strong clinical leader who is adaptable, approachable, and passionate about supporting others in their professional development. Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: ACLS Instructor Capability. LEAD II Instructor Capability. ART Line and TVP knowledge and experience.
