Loss Prevention Security Guard

About the RoleJoin Securiguard as an Loss Prevention Officer and play an active role in preventing retail theft through surveillance, investigations, and lawful apprehensions. This is not a static security position-you'll be working in a fast-paced retail environment where every shift presents new challenges.If you're observant, proactive, and confident making decisions under pressure, this role offers the opportunity to build your investigative skills while helping protect people, property, and retail operations.What You'll DoSafeguard assets and minimize losses for retail clients by conducting routine surveillance and employing observational skills to identify theft, fraud, or security breaches.Regularly patrol the premises and interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service.Investigate suspicious activities, review CCTV footage, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.Craft detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.Enforce security protocols, de-escalate conflicts, and, when needed, make lawful arrests to ensure a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.What you bring:Valid BC Security Worker LicenseAt least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer focused environment such as retail, government or healthcare..Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.Conflict resolution and de-escalation skillsMilitary/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.Strong observational skills and situational awarenessPunctualityAble to stand/patrol up for up to 8 hours.Who We AreAt Securiguard, our purpose is simple: to make people feel safe.With over 4,000 employees across Canada, we are one of the country's leading security providers, protecting retail, corporate, industrial, aviation, government, and critical infrastructure sites.
