Adecco is currently hiring a Material Handler / Forklift Operator for a full-time opportunity in Markham, ON. This role is ideal for a reliable and detail-oriented warehouse professional with strong forklift experience and a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
As a Material Handler / Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for supporting material flow throughout the warehouse and production areas, including receiving, storing, picking, kitting, and delivering materials to ensure production schedules are met. You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, operating material handling equipment safely, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Salary: $21/hour
- Location: Markham, ON
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Contract: Temp-to-perm potential

Responsibilities- Perform picking, packing, kitting, staging, and replenishment of materials and components
- Support putaway of inbound freight into designated storage locations
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, bin audits, and physical inventory counts
- Sort, organize, and label freight, pallets, and storage locations according to warehouse standards
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper material rotation practices
- Use RF scanners and SAP for material transactions and tracking
- Assist with material discrepancy investigations and report shortages or damages
- Safely operate Reach Truck, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment (certification required)
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments from trucks or containers
- Transport materials between warehouses, staging areas, and production lines
- Deliver materials and components to production cells as required
- Prepare and stage kits and job orders based on production priorities
- Assist with line returns and proper stock placement
- Maintain cleanliness and organization using 5S principles
- Follow Lean practices and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately
- Communicate material shortages or delays proactively
- Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and production staff
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Maintain a positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Requirements- Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
- Valid Reach Truck (Raymond Reach) forklift certification required
- 1-3 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems is an asset
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality
