CS-1 Transportation is a leading 3PL Freight Broker (Non-Asset-based). We are the solution provider to customers needing to move freight domestically within Canada, USA and cross border. We have been named in The Growth 500 - 4 years in a row. We are looking to add to our dispatch team.
Job Details
- Hours : 12 hour shifts (1 hour break) - Rotation every (4) days. (four days on, four days off)
- Includes weekends and statutory holidays
- Requires coverage of overnight shifts (7pm to 7am) due to vacation and sick time.
- Location : Head Office - 5026 South Service Road, Burlington, ON

Main Purpose of Job :
We are looking for an exceptional Logistics Coordinator that knows the industry! We are offering an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of 3PL brokerage.
In this position the Logistics Coordinator will need to enter orders into our TMS system. You will be required to find carriers for customer orders to move freight in the most efficient way possible. The Logistics Coordinator will negotiate with customers and carriers all while meeting the high standards CS-1 Transportation provides.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Field and direct all incoming phone calls, emails and faxes as requiredRespond to all e-mails in a timely fashion including customer e-mails for pickups, rates and availability and updatesResponsible for adhering to checklist to accurately enter orders, provide updates and tracking (includes addresses, contacts, emails, and PO / SO / Reference #s)Carrier search and rate negotiation (accessing TMS History as leverage)Dispatching contracts to carriers, with all / any special instructions (once rate has been agreed upon)Confirming customs broker information and entering into TMSSaving all documents (BOLS / Customs docs / Packing lists) to the serverSaving all emails with spot quotes to the serverEnsuring Carriers have insurance, and an acceptable safety rating before securingResolving any issues regarding any order with the carrier brought to dispatch by Customer Service. This may include any accessorial, carrier delays or service problems that are more than just minor and CS cannot resolve quickly.Finalizing any accessorial charges brought to your attention by customer service with the carrier and the customerAdditionally, you will be crossed-trained how to work in customer service, especially on weekends :To handle all aspects of the company s operations from phone calls to dealing with carriersTo track and trace current loadsInform the customer the whereabouts of their freight via email, or phoneCollect POD from carriers within a reasonable amount of timeAdd carrier packets and update profilesUpdate shippers and consignee profilesTo assist in saving documentation, customs docs and facilitating the docs to carriersRequirements
