CLINICAL EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Position Summary
Are you a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Interprofessional Team department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, and within the standards of professional practice as outlined by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, and the American College of Sports Medicine this position is responsible for designing, conducting and supervising exercise sessions for primary care rehabilitation clients. Reporting to the Team Lead/Manager or designate and under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist and in collaboration with an interprofessional team, the Clinical Exercise Physiologist assists participants to attain recommended fitness, and lifestyle goals by providing education and counseling. Provides support and input into program planning, development, evaluation, and outreach and delivery of community programming to client groups.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday- STAT, Days - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualfications
•A Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or Exercise Sciences from a recognized program.
• Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist with either the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

• Ability to deliver services in a culturally safe and sensitive environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment including virtually enabled technology.
