Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently working with a large, complex organization with a wide variety of holdings across North America and Europe to seek a detail-oriented and analytical Divisional Controller to join their finance team.

This role will focus on providing support to a division that focuses on hospitality. Leading a small team, your work will funnel up to the corporate level where it gets consolidated.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the period-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and various operational reports to support business functions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Payroll, Tax, AP, and Treasury) to facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
  • Understand stakeholder expectations thoroughly and utilize accounting expertise to meet those needs.
  • Oversee the year-end process, coordinating with external auditors to facilitate the financial statement audit.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Ensure timely filing of all relevant taxes for assigned legal entities.
  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for enhancements within the new ERP system, prioritizing automation where feasible.
  • Mentor and develop three team members, ensuring all receive the support they need to succeed in their roles.

Requirements :

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting with 2+ in leadership.
  • Strong understanding of consolidated financial reporting, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex calculations and create detailed financial models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Experience with external audits and regulatory compliance is a plus.

Rewards : $90,000 - $120,000
