Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently working with a large, complex organization with a wide variety of holdings across North America and Europe to seek a detail-oriented and analytical Divisional Controller to join their finance team. This role will focus on providing support to a division that focuses on hospitality. Leading a small team, your work will funnel up to the corporate level where it gets consolidated.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the period-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and various operational reports to support business functions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Payroll, Tax, AP, and Treasury) to facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
- Understand stakeholder expectations thoroughly and utilize accounting expertise to meet those needs.
- Oversee the year-end process, coordinating with external auditors to facilitate the financial statement audit.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
- Ensure timely filing of all relevant taxes for assigned legal entities.
- Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for enhancements within the new ERP system, prioritizing automation where feasible.
- Mentor and develop three team members, ensuring all receive the support they need to succeed in their roles.
Requirements :
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting with 2+ in leadership.Strong understanding of consolidated financial reporting, GAAP, and internal controls.Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Strong Excel skills, including the ability to perform complex calculations and create detailed financial models.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.Experience with external audits and regulatory compliance is a plus.Rewards : 90,000 - $120,000
