Jobpurpose

TheProduction Supervisor supervises hourly staff working in a 12 hourcontinental shift within a 24 / 7 operation. The ProductionSupervisor manages high volume manufacturing processes to meetoperational objectives.

While working within an industrial plantthis individual will supervise plan lead and direct activities ofpersonnel engaged in the manufacturing of plastic sheets for foodpackagingcontainers.

PrincipalJobDuties

Plan and lead the activities of production processes and personnelon night / day rotating shifts during the manufacturing ofproducts.

Direct production operations in accordance with establishedpriorities and sequences for manufacturing products using knowledgeof production processes and methods machine and equipmentcapabilities and management ofpersonnel.

Advise plant managers about production issues and offer suggestionsfor changes inworking

conditionsproduction procedures and the use of equipment andpersonnel.

Meet or exceed goals established for safety labor efficienciesschedule attainment scraprework and any other production relatedgoals.

Ensure that new employees are trained in the manufacturingoperation as needed; provideongoing staff training on revisedmanufacturing procedures such as run sheets SOPS newmachinery / equipmentetc.

Ensure compliance with company safe operating policies andprocedures.

Monitor the performance of all personnel and activities undersupervision on a regular basis to ensure optimum performance andprovides counselling and / or corrective actionto

associatesnot meetingexpectations.

Ensure all production equipment / processes are operating at optimumrates andin

accordancewith standard operatingprocedures.

Report all equipment and building deficiencies to the EngineeringManager andrecommend

replacementsor overhauls asnecessary.

Analyze and resolve work issues and assist workers in solving workproblems.

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned byManagement.

Requirements

JobRequirements

Post secondaryeducation in Engineering or equivalent technical workexperience.

A minimum 3 years ofexperience in a 24 / 7 running manufacturingfacility.

Minimum of 2 yearsexperience in a supervisory / team leader capacity withdemonstrated

leadership skillsincluding mentoring / coaching ofpersonnel.

Experience in plasticmanufacturing environment especially Plastic Extrusion ispreferred.

Strong communicatorboth written and oral who is confident decisive able to dealwith

conflict and yet achieveswinwin results.

Demonstratedability to troubleshoot various equipment operations to minimizedowntime and

put forwardcorrective actions.

Experiencedin computer and other production related softwareapplications.

Must be flexible torotate shifts on monthlybasis.

How You'll Perform The Role Produce molds and / or machined / fabricated parts accurately and efficiently within establishedtimelines Handle cutting, drilling, reaming, boring, polishing,deburring and grinding of aluminum parts Handle cleaning, fitting,drilling and assembling of the tools Assist with sample makingprocess when required Grind tools for custom requirements Knowcapability of various machines and related impact on parts / toolsCome up with ideas for productivity improvements throughengineering solutions like jigs, fixtures etc.

whenever requiredGuide and assist co-workers whenever required Make wooden cratesand pack the tools for shipment whenever required Lift and moveproduct / parts / boxes when required Assist with cleaning upmachines and their general maintenance Diligently follow lockout / tag out procedures whenever required Understand, maintain andfollow the working procedures for machine shop Maintain properhousekeeping and 5S in own work area and around work units Performall work in a safe manner and fully comply with the Safety andQuality (GMP) policies and procedures of the Company Any otherduties as assigned by the Management What We Need From You MinimumHigh school diploma and Ontario Machinist Certification Minimum 5years of experience in machine shop and fabrication for makingthermoforming molds or similar applications Strong knowledge ofdifferent tooling machinery and its usage, including MillingMachines, Lathes, Drilling Machine, Band saw, Grinders etc.

Able toverify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using differentmeasuring instruments eg. Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height gaugeetc.

Able to read and interpret blue-prints or study sample partsto determine machining operations to be performed Strong knowledgeof welding and brazing.

Able to work accurately and efficientlywith minimal supervision Should possess own basic tools GoodEnglish communications skills (verbal and written)
