Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian works as a member of the Health Care Team to provide their professional expertise to maintain and facilitate client well-being. The Clinical Dietitian functions in a teaching role with new diabetics and follows the patient as required. He / she acts as a resource to members of the Health Care Team and Community to provide and promote nutritional knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • CDE certification an asset
  • Clinical experience in a hospital outpatient setting
  • Clinical teaching experience required
  • Experience with insulin pumps an asset
  • Experience with behaviour change strategies
  • Experience with individual counselling
  • Experience group education sessions using various learning techniques
  • Courses in adult education and self-management an asset
  • Experience in clinical research is an asset
  • Must possess own car, a current Ontario Driver’s License and a clean driving abstract
  • Ability to travel to outreach clinics
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
