Job Summary
The Clinical Dietitian works as a member of the Health Care Team to provide their professional expertise to maintain and facilitate client well-being. The Clinical Dietitian functions in a teaching role with new diabetics and follows the patient as required. He / she acts as a resource to members of the Health Care Team and Community to provide and promote nutritional knowledge.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- CDE certification an asset
- Clinical experience in a hospital outpatient setting
- Clinical teaching experience required
- Experience with insulin pumps an asset
- Experience with behaviour change strategies
- Experience with individual counselling
- Experience group education sessions using various learning techniques
- Courses in adult education and self-management an asset
- Experience in clinical research is an asset
- Must possess own car, a current Ontario Driver’s License and a clean driving abstract
- Ability to travel to outreach clinics
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
