The Role

MDA is seeking a talented and experienced Data Governance Specialist to be part of the IT Enterprise Business System team. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance policies, procedures, and standards for our Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that data is properly managed, protected, and used in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality, security, and compliance of data within our Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform, which includes data warehousing, business intelligence, and data science and integration tools.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework for the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform, including policies, procedures, and standards for data management, data quality, data security, and data compliance.
• Develop and implement data quality management processes to ensure that data within the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform is accurate, complete, and consistent.
• Collaborate with the information security team to ensure that data within the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform is properly secured and protected against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, and that data management practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain a data catalog and metadata management system to ensure that data within the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform is properly documented, tracked, and managed.
• Develop and implement data lineage and provenance processes to ensure that data within the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform is properly tracked and managed throughout its lifecycle.
• Data Classification and Categorization : Develop and implement a data classification and categorization framework to ensure that data in the Data and Analytics Platform and Data Integrations platform is properly classified and categorized based on its sensitivity, criticality, and business value.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to raise awareness about data governance, provide training and guidance on data management best practices, and ensure that data-related issues are properly addressed.
• Identify and mitigate data-related risks, such as data breaches, data loss, or data corruption, and develop strategies to minimize the impact of these risks on the organization.
• Ensure that data management practices within the Data and Analytics platform and Data Integration Platform comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the data governance framework, policies, and procedures to ensure that they remain effective, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
