Power BI Report Developer
Job Description
Our leading non profit education client is looking for a permanent BI Report Developer to join their team. The role will operate on a hybrid model at their Markham office.
Responsibilities :
- Craft intricate SQL queries, reports (SSRS / Power BI), and dashboards (Power BI)
- Design, develop, and implement BI solutions
- Create visually compelling and accurate reports and dashboards, ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborate with various teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Assess reporting needs, recommend improvements, and match requirements with suitable reporting tools.
- Document technical requirements, user procedures, and data flow diagrams.
- Analyze, test, and troubleshoot reports and dashboards to ensure seamless performance in production.
- Develop Power Apps to complement reporting front-end design.
- Assist in monitoring ETL jobs and Azure data-mart structure creation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in report design and technology.
- Conduct training sessions and offer technical support to team members and users.
Skills and Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in databases, programming, and report / dashboard development.
- Proficiency in report writing with a strong focus on BI tools, particularly Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server, including writing complex SQL queries.
- Report writing and dashboard development
- Familiarity with MS Excel (including macros- Visual Basic for Application), Adobe Acrobat, and Business Intelligence concepts.
- Advanced skills in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you will work with stakeholders on a daily basis
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
- Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and adaptable to change.
