About Us :
Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conducting pre-trip and post trip inspections.
- When necessary, assist with loading / unloading trailer.
- Reporting any issues promptly.
- Complying with all regulations regarding transportation and hours of service.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch team members and provide outstanding customer service.
- Must comply with all transportation and safety regulation as required.
- Uphold security standards at all times.
What gets you in the driver’s seat :
Valid Class 1 Drivers License is requiredFlat Deck hauling experience is required (mix of van & deck work available).Newer model heavy spec'd highway truck is preferredMinimum 5 years of Northern winter driving experience is required.Ability to drive at night is requiredNorthern Mine heavy hauling experience is requiredStrong communication and teamwork skillsExcellent time management and problem-solving abilitiesMust be able to handle with adverse weather conditions and chain up fully as weather indicates.Commitment to transportation regulations as well as customer on-site regulations or rules.If you have any questions, please contact Bev Stewart, Director of linehaul at 604.968.5488
