You are a team player committed to community. You will plan and instruct developmentally appropriate music classes and dynamic lesson plans.

You will be working in a creative environment utilizing your leadership and people skills while maintaining a safe environment to engage students to expand their interest in music.

You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • In-depth knowledge of music
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Proven ability to create and implement lesson plans
  • Ability to build a rapport with students, parents of students and staff
  • Some knowledge of community recreation principles and practices
  • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Candidates must have formal music training and 2 years teaching experience. All instructors working with children must have a current Emergency First Aid certificate and HIGH FIVE : Principles of Healthy Child Development training (available online through BCRPA).

$24.00-$38.00 per hour, based on training & experience 2-6 hours a week, hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to work days, evenings and / or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location.
