A renowned engineering firm is seeking a skilled Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in British Columbia.

This role focuses on innovative projects in the mining, hydropower, and water infrastructure sectors, offering a chance to make a significant impact on these critical industries.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Leadership : Lead geotechnical engineering projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
  • Technical Expertise : Provide advanced geotechnical analysis and design for mining, hydropower, and water infrastructure projects.
  • Site Investigations : Plan and oversee geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
  • Design and Analysis : Develop and review geotechnical designs, including foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and earthworks.
  • Risk Assessment : Conduct geotechnical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for complex engineering projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all projects comply with relevant federal, provincial, and local regulations and industry standards.
  • Technical Reporting : Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentorship : Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

Qualifications :

Educational Background : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia is required.

  • Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on mining, hydropower, or water infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Proficiency : Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Plaxis, or similar.
  • Field Expertise : Strong experience in conducting and overseeing geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Analytical Skills : Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing innovative geotechnical solutions.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Team Leadership : Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with experience managing project teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
