Our client is expanding its team and is looking for a bilingual Material Resources Manager (MRP) located in Ville Saint-Laurent.
The MRP ensures that the right materials are delivered on time to meet customer demand, ensuring quality products are built while optimizing inventory and delivery times.
Each product meets confirmed deliver. MRP has a variety of responsibilities, including providing inventory management support and guidance to all new and existing qualified employees, supporting production initiatives, and performing inspections of incoming inventory in the warehouse.
Success in this role requires the ability to deliver high-quality results through formal and informal influence on others, as well as excellent organizational skills to meet business needs and consistently evaluate innovative methods to improve the efficiency of work processes.
Need to have a good lean supply chain basics (LT / EOQ / ABC, FMR classification) + strong MRP knowledge.
DETAILED ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain ERP-based purchasing processes and compliance accuracy
- Develop and manage replenishment strategies for assigned materials
- In collaboration with the production planner, ensure the continuous updating of information in the maintenance management system
- Create work orders to remove parts from warehouse
- Regulate stocks to meet the forecast plan and weekly production schedules
- Analysis and reporting (coverage, forecasts, projections, supplier back orders, supplier over-deliveries)
- Work with engineering and project management for engineering changes and new projects (NPI)
- Coordinate efforts with production and engineering to identify modifications and material substitutions when necessary
- Work with suppliers to coordinate their schedules and prioritize when necessary to avoid supply constraints or customer service issues
- Collaborative team responsible for physical inventories (ABC cycle)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
- At least 1-3 years of experience using an ERP / MRP system in a supply chain / logistics capacity (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Knowledge of process improvement and future order fulfillment strategies is preferred
- Ability to deal with issues at senior management level
- Proficient in the use of Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. MS Office skills required.
- Professional communication with internal and external contacts via phone, email and Microsoft Teams communications is essential.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and three or more years of professional experience in a production planning / inventory management role with proven experience and knowledge of Lean supply chain.
A major in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
A Material Resources Manager has the following responsibilities :
- Budget inventory value and maintain it.
- Optimize stock levels, classify them and ensure that stock values meet required availability.
- Work with the engineering department to ensure stock technical specifications are correct.
- Carry out market research to ensure all materials are of high-quality standard.
- Provide comments to classify inventory items according to defined categories.
- Forecast trends in parts consumption to provide the necessary number of stocks and rotation.
- Provide feedback and information to purchasing on the performance of the supplier and manufacturer base and their technical capabilities.
- Respect working conditions and follow safety procedures in the workplace.
- Other tasks as needed.
