Warehouse Team Member Job Description
Overview :
Warehouse team members are responsible for various tasks in the fulfillment process, including picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and housekeeping.
All roles require basic computer literacy and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Packers : Retrieve and pack items based on order sheets, ensure correct box sizes, scan and tag items, fold and pack, and apply shipping labels.
Place completed orders on the conveyor line.
- Pickers : Walk continuously to pick items using RF scanners, ensure correct size / color, and push / pull carts throughout the shift.
- PTL : Consolidate and sort items from rolling racks and carts, use RF scanners to ensure correct placement, and push / pull carts as required.
- Runners : Transport items between departments (picking, packing, and shipping), manage fluctuating priorities, and push / pull carts as needed.
- Auditors / Inventory Control : Count inbound items, update inventory in the database, ensure proper storage, and work independently.
- Shippers : Sort, wrap, and ship pallets using RF scanners, load trailers with pump trucks, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Housekeeping : Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, move trash bins with pump trucks, operate the compactor, and follow cleaning schedules.
Physical Requirements : Must be comfortable with walking, bending, lifting (up to 20 lbs), and using equipment like RF scanners and pump trucks.
Must also be able to work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
Skills : Basic computer literacy, ability to manage tasks efficiently, and comfort with physical work are required.
