As the Head of People at Hiive, you will be a foundational member of our operations team and the leader of our people and culture organization.

You will be on the front lines of scaling a world-class, high-performing team and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive at work.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team, develop compensation and talent development strategies, be a key ambassador for Hiive's culture and values, and serve as an important advisor for our senior leadership team.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, growth-oriented people leader.

In this role, your responsibilities would include :

  • Building and leading the P&C organization; managing and mentoring P&C team members.
  • Serving as Hiive's employee relations expert, and developing policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining industry-leading performance management, engagement and feedback systems.
  • Leading the company's compensation and benefits strategy, with the goal of attracting, rewarding and retaining top talent.
  • Leading the company's recruiting and talent development strategy.
  • Driving and overseeing employee experience initiatives, continuous learning, and leadership development.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and partner to Hiive's Leadership team on all employee relations and engagement matters.
  • Serving as a key ambassador and communicator of the Hiive's culture, mission and values.
  • Working with the marketing team on employer branding and events.
  • Using data to optimize and enhance P&C decisions and processes, including with respect to hiring, talent development and retention.

Required Skills :

  • You have 6+ years of experience in HR / People & Culture, with at least 2 of those in a leadership or managerial role.
  • You have knowledge and experience in recruiting, employer branding, talent development, performance management, compensation planning and total rewards, employee engagement, and HR compliance.
  • You have a proven track record of taking a collaborative, growth-oriented, and data-driven approach to solving people-related problems.
  • You have the maturity and confidence to serve as an advisor to senior executives, and to advocate for a position that you feel strongly about.
  • You are an exceptional people person with proven leadership skills, who can motivate and inspire teams to achieve peak performance.
  • You have a bachelors or masters degree in business administration, human resources or a related field.

Preferred Skills :

Ideally, you have some experience working in a quickly growing start-up company. Experience in venture capital, financial services, capital markets or enterprise B2B is also an asset, but not required.
