Salary :
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About the job :
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Senior Physician Compensation Analyst is responsible for leading and coordinating Medical Affairs planning, analysis, contract evaluation, and decision support related to physician compensation models, contracts and funding.
The Senior Analyst will be part of the Physician Compensation Department and will work closely with leadership teams and key internal and external partners.
Typical duties and responsibilities :
Leads the provision of timely, relevant, reliable, and clear information with appropriate supporting data analyses and review of alternatives to inform planning and decision-making and monitor the performance of contracted clinical services.
This will include developing decision / information briefs for senior IH leadership and Ministry of Health staff as well as service utilization and outcomes analyze and information for use by program planning, medical staff resource planning, health service operations, and executive medical leadership.
Provides day to day leadership to assigned physician compensation analysts. Monitors and works within the assigned budget.
Provides training, work direction, and coaching to assigned staff to meet organizational needs and priorities.
Coordinates the provision of data analysis and compensation modeling using key data sources (financial, population, clinical, organizational, and administrative) in response to medicine & quality portfolio, senior executive team and program level requests.
This work will include data linkage across two or more datasets, descriptive information, statistical analyses, and statistical tests of significance.
- Reviews the evaluation of physician service contracts and programs as identified within the schedule identified in the service deliverables in physician contracts in a timely manner that are prepared by assigned physician compensation analysts.
- Reviews planning and evaluation documents prepared by assigned physician compensation analysts as well as plans for allocating medical resources;
provides information and advice to guide decision-making. Information and feedback will include providing assistance with physician billing assumptions, compensation modeling and utilization data as well as feedback on planning assumptions.
Provides recommendations and identifies opportunities for physician contract revenue analysis to the Director, Physician Compensation.
This will include providing suggestions and advice on important financial and quality metrics to be included in new clinical service contracts and future projects / analyses.
Develops a strong working relationship with program managers, directors, the senior executive, business support, and others who require information for planning, managing, and evaluating services.
Project support may include planning project deliverables and identifying data sources and appropriate methods to support planning, data analyses, writing summary reports, and preparing presentations.
- Provides support and technical advice to staff on physician billing resource and application questions.
- Works with provincial partners on various physician compensation model initiatives. This may include working with the Ministry of Health, Health Employers Association of BC, Doctors of BC, Divisions of Family Practice, Medical Staff Associations, and other British Columbia Health Authorities.
The focus of this work will be to review key assumptions and methods, provide data, and assist with interpretation and analysis of findings.
- Works with representatives of other Health Authorities and other data custodians to support physician compensation analysis, interpretation, and reporting initiatives.
- Works with Information Management / Information Technology and other IH staff to support timely, reliable, and consistent data reporting and analysis.
- In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.
